Eleven coaches from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Japan certified

United States Bowling Congress coach-instructor and International Ambassador for Bowling, Rafael "Paeng" Nepomuceno (back row, second from left, click on the image to enlarge), Philippines, certified eleven new USBC Silver Level coaches during a seminar held July 6-9 at state-of-the-art Hong Kong Bowling City in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, site of the 2011 World Women's Championships.

Fresh off his 123rd career title and his record 8th win in the Philippine Open last month, Paeng trained coaches from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Japan.

The newly certified coaches are: Ben Wong Kwok Ho, Chan Sau Ming, Nikky Young Chi Wai, Wu Siu Hong, Wicky Yeung Wai Ki, Daniel Choi from Hong Kong; Lee Feng Chen from Taiwan; Luis M. Silva, Julia Lam Sou Keng, Ho Weng Hou, Amy from Macau, and Yoshinobu Shimoji from Okinawa, Japan.

"There was a great exchange of opinions and observations as most, if not all, of the coaches have been actively coaching for the past few years either in schools or giving private lessons," said Nepomuceno, who holds three Guinness World records for his bowling prowess.

"It is gratifying to be told that the participants were happy with how technical the Silver seminar is and how it will enhance their coaching and benefit their students."

"I found the seminar very informative, structured and straight to the point said Wu Siu Hong (right), a multiple Asian ranking champion and winner of several international events.

Another Hong Kong National Bowling team athlete, Wicky Yeung, said "I also found USBC's introduction of the different coaching tools used to enhance the bowler's game very impressive."

Also on hand to observe the proceedings and lend support was USBC Director for International federation Affairs, Bill Hoffmann.

The three-day coaching clinic was supported and co-organized by the Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress. It was the second Silver conference conducted by Nepomuceno in 2011.
